At CARBS we’re looking forward to renewing our campaigns in 2021.  Our volunteer researchers will continue work to improve policies that cause problems for clients and many other citizens.

Local level

In Reigate and Banstead and East Surrey we will support the vital services provided by our borough and county councils.  We will emphasise some issues in the RBBC 5-year plan, Reigate and Banstead 2025. in particular, policies affecting people in difficulty with their finances, housing and employment.  Sometimes we may be ‘critical friends’ but will always work as partners for positive outcomes.

National level

Along with colleagues in local Citizens Advice everywhere we will promote National CA Campaigns.  In the first half of 2021 our special interests will be: fair and safe employment; universal credit (especially maintaining the vital coronavirus supplement); and the loyalty penalty paid by too many essential service users.

Coronavirus

We will continue to do whatever we can to help advisers and staff colleagues support the growing number of local people asking for help a result of coronavirus.
