Surrey Libraries announce that interactive audio theatre show: I Am Bird, is coming to Redhill and Merstham Libraries over the next few weeks, made possible by a new partnership with Farnham Maltings. This new immersive experience presents stories of migration and is coming to Redhill and Merstham Libraries on the following dates:
Redhill Library: 20-22 January 2022
Merstham Library: 4-5 February 2022
Equipped with your own headphone and mobile phone*, you will be transported on an epic adventure across the library, following the extraordinary and everyday story of a young bird migrating from West Africa to the UK.
*Headphone splitters and spare headphones, compatible with most popular phones, can be provided by the library, however it is recommended you use your own.
At each station, visitors are invited to make choices leading them to miniature paper worlds and follow clues hidden around the library, each revealing a different element of the bird’s migratory journey. Lasting about an hour, this interactive and personal experience invites audiences to explore their local library in a new and exciting way, reflecting on migration through stories and art.
This experience will appeal to adults and children from aged 8+, however children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
