At a Zoom meeting on 29 July CEO Andrea Dunhill thanked CARBS volunteers and staff for their hard work in a “hugely challenging” April to June. Everyone had to work from home at short notice but the team hardly missed a beat.
In fact client numbers GREW by 21% on 2019 with advice issues up 18%.
Reporting these “astonishing” numbers, Andrea said stakeholders were “impressed at the very significant contribution” we were making. She was confident the current transformation project meant we could go on improving service to clients and the community.
“With better IT and phone infrastructure we can offer a more flexible and efficient service. We’re also looking at how some colleagues might return safely to our offices.”
Support we can rely on
Andrea praised volunteers’ commitment and pointed to the support we can rely on across the community. Councils and companies, voluntary groups and other charities all recognised the part we play. With demand growing, we still needed new volunteers from all sections of society to train and help fellow citizens in difficult times.
